The BHP is proud of its alumni, and that includes those who didn’t become “names.” Some fought the good fight only to realize that their calling was elsewhere than Show Business — the development of their talent is worthy of no less pride or admiration than someone who goes on to make the cover of a magazine or win an award. So the notion of running an acting school, and using the names of our famous alumni to help sell the joint…. We’re of mixed minds on this.
The BHP has been around for over 40 years. We have our list of names. Can any of the current teaching staff take credit for George Clooney’s success? Of course not. Did he benefit while he was here from what Milton taught him in the mid 1980s, which is still the approach of the BHP today? We hope so. So here’s what we’ll do: We’ll name five actors who became famous after studying at BHP directly under Milton, and who have been on record acknowledging Milton’s influence. And we’ll name five actors who we’re confident the current teaching staff influenced on their way to success. There are many more names on both lists, but we think this makes a fair representation without getting too deeply into the star-f——ing aspect of promoting an acting school.
