Carlito’s Way

Carlito and Gail dated before Carlito was sent to jail. He had been a well-known drug trafficker in his New York neighborhood. Now he’s out and determined to change his life, to not get dragged into petty street crime and the drug scene. He finds Gail at her dance school and surprises her as she’s coming out of a class, and they end up at a small West Village restaurant. (For you New Yorkers, this is set in the seventies, and the restaurant bears a striking resemblance to the now-defunct Sandolino’s). She tries to hide the fact that she is working as a go-go dancer in a club in Times Square.
