Sheridan Whiteside, a famous lecturer, is stuck in Ohio due to an accident that left him immobile. His loyal personal assistant, Maggie Cutler, who is usually very judgmental and uptight like Sheridan, has recently fallen for a man and her attitude has changed. In this scene, she returns to Sheridan and confesses that she wants a new life separate from him. He doesn't take it well.
